Montague Business Association Begins Membership Drive

Montague, Jan. 19, 2011--The Montague Business Association is printing a new membership brochure and wants all Montague-based businesses to have a chance to appear in the member listings section of the brochure.

Businesses that join the association by Feb. 1 will get listed in the brochure, which is planned to be displayed at businesses in all of Montague’s five villages, as well as at the town hall, and area real estate agencies, restaurants and inns.

“The Montague Business Association looks forward to working with all types of businesses—from home-based entrepreneurs to the town’s largest employers,” said Eileen Dowd, Carriage House Designs and one of the association’s steering committee members. “By working together, we can improve visibility of all of Montague’s businesses, and continue to promote Montague’s long-term economic growth.”

“We’re making plans businesses will want to know about for the coming year, including discounts on local advertising and promotions, and opportunities for members to network with each other,” said steering committee member Lynne Rudié, who designed the brochure. “Joining now is the best way to stay on top of what’s happening. It’s a great time to get involved.”

Steering committee member Mik Muller, of Montague Web Works, agreed, “New members can help shape the association and what it focuses on, while getting to know some great folks in town.”

The Montague Business Association’s mission is to support, promote and develop Montague’s businesses. It actively partners and collaborates with the community and promotes Montague’s long-term economic growth. Recent activities include staying on top of the bridge closure issues and sponsoring events, such as the annual Tree Lighting and networking events.

Dues start at $60 per year for businesses with up to five full-time employees, to $120 for businesses with 6-25 full-time employees, and $250 for those with 26 or more full-time employees.

A meet-and-greet networking event is slated for Wednesday, Feb. 16th from 4:30-6:30 p.m. at the Rendezvous, and the next association business meeting for all current and prospective members will be at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 8, at About Face Computer’s brand new store at 151 Avenue A.
