BiMonthly meeting held at Burrito Rojo

o Carriage House Designs highlighted their business. Custom made signs, crocks and pet memorials. Advertised in national catalogs.

o J.D. Keating highlighted his business Burrito Rojo: "Good food -- fast!"

o Next meeting will hopefully be held in Montague Center at the Lady Killigrew. We are looking for a May host and location. [Update: Don Clegg signed up to be the food person and secured the Discovery Center.]

o Bookkeeper has put all finances in Quickbooks so a financial report can be produced.

o Mik is up and running with the website, and showed us the basic layout on his laptop. He is looking for volunteers to be on the website committee.

o Eileen volunteered to join Chris Janke to review organizational structures for the association.

o Chris suggested Leadership meetings in the odd months to catch up on board work.

o Chris handed out letters that asked for membership renewals. He is looking for comments in order to get letter out and money coming in. There is currently a gap in the membership.

o BRIDGE INFO. Chris handed out his best "take" on what is happening with the bridge. Those notes were verbally read and please refer to this sheet or contact Chris Janke if you would like your own copy.

- Initial meeting held Jan 3 at Tom Bergeron's office. Concerns about traffic flow -- how it will effect businesses.

- FL Roberts has its own traffic expert. Could we ask that expert to review current plan and provide suggestions for presentation to construction co.

- Chris will keep in touch with Bergeron.

o TOWN PLANNER. MBA (Chris) involved with selection of part time Town Planner (position to go to full time in fall).

o Michael Nelson / Pumpkin Festival. To be held Saturday, October 23rd, 2010, from 3:00pm to 9:00pm between 3rd Street and 7th Street on Avenue A in Turners Falls. Pesky Park will have food and liquor.

o Mik Muller / Downhill Soapbox Derby. Starts at Kostanski's Funeral Home and goes down 1st Street, ending at Unity Park. September 18, 2010, from noon till about 5:00pm. Expecting between 100 and 200 participants. Insurance is a big concern. Liability is a big concern.

o Don. Downtown Association meeting last night. Wall to wall.

o Arts & Events. Future of meeting with artists and businesses to discuss need for change? Need to go forward.

o Mik Muller is looking for members of website subcommittee. Pam K joined and they will meet tomorrow morning, Friday, January 15th.
